Honey Jalapeno Cornbread

Sweet and spicy warm cornbread serve with sweet honey butter. Pairs prefect with chili or soup!

Ingredients
  

  • ½ Cup Melted Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 ¼ Cups Buttermilk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Yellow Cornmeal
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 Jalapeno Deseeded and Chopped
Honey Butter
  • ½ Cup Soft Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • Pinch of Salt

Method
 

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x9 baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl mix all the of the liquids together. Add in the dry ingredients and mix just until it’s combined. Fold in the jalapenos.
  3. Pour into the greased 9x9 and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the soft butter, honey and a pinch of salt till smooth. Serve along side warm cornbread.
