Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a medium-sized baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat.
In a food processor, add the dry ingredients (all-purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda) along with the cold cubed butter. Pulse the mixture for about 10-15 seconds or until the butter is broken up and incorporated into the flour, creating a coarse, crumbly texture.
Slowly pour in the buttermilk while continuing to pulse the food processor. Pulse until the dough comes together and forms a cohesive ball.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Work quickly to keep the butter cold. Bring the dough together and shape it into a rectangle. Take the top half of the dough and fold it onto the bottom half. Repeat this process four times, creating multiple layers in the dough.
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1 inch. You can use a floured rolling pin to do this. Cut the dough into square or circle biscuits, whichever shape you prefer. Place the cut biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for approximately 13 minutes or until they are golden brown and have risen.
Once the biscuits are done baking, remove them from the oven and brush the tops with melted butter to add a delicious finishing touch.
